American Plum ( Prunus americana)

A Native Shrub , Coarse by nature , forms colonies,  can be used as a thicket.  Fruit is red to yellowish when ripe , fully edible, alkaline.  Flowers early in year , smelly . Hardiness Zones 3-7 . Manitoba  to Georgia . Low Maintenance . Growth like a Tree found in Small percentage. General Uses , soil stablity , Fruit , as a Native forage ,  and as a Block. 15' high by 10 wide typical , can go as large as 45 x 35. Used in rough landscapes , no use in formal garden.
