Native / Tree of Ontario , soft clustered pale green needles , MNR34, hardiness Zone 3,  Uses :Timber , Christmas Trees , Landscaping ,  as Ornamentals ,  formal hedge.  Large variety  of soils ,prefers well drained , but often found in wet areas . Subject to many diseases and pests : White Pine blister rust , needlecast (Diplodia) , root rot , red rot  and does not  tolerate any road salt or pollution. 30-60 ft tall by 1/3 wide , naturally loses lower branches with age. Best on a large property , dead needles can be messy in the falll.
